How to set the New Reading Pane in 2003 to Default Off

Use the switch /nopreview in your shortcut to start Outlook.

To access that, right click the Outlook icon, click Properties, in the Target box at the end of the line add /nopreview.

When Outlook opens, the Reading pane will be off and you cannot enable it.
