Monday 4/18/05 - Sunday 4/24/05

Last week was very busy.  I looked at several rentals; one in Kilauea, and my favorite in Lawai are in the running still.  I hope to know this week about the house in Lawai and if I don't get it I will probably take the place in Kilauea.  As you can see form the map it is a bit far North but a very nice area and the place is fantastic.  I like the one in Lawai for it's location and it's a nice 2 bedroom small house whereas the other is the bottom floor of a 2 story house but has more square footage.  We'll see.  On my way to the house in Kilauea I passed this amazing church.

I also taught two days at KCC last week and really had a great time.  This next week I will teach my scheduled class of Word Intermediate and will also take a co-workers Advanced Access class.  So, I'll be teaching four days.  That should be exhausting but fun!  I really enjoy teaching again.  Most of the time I will only teach two days a week.  The classroom I've used so far is very nice.  I taught County employees last week and this next week I will teach county and a private company so that will be interesting.

Today I went to Kipu Falls.  I met Liz and her friend Horace in town and we went together.  Liz lives in one of the cottages.  She is a wedding photographer and Horace is also a wedding photographer visiting from the Big Island.  It was a short walk from the parking area, which was interesting since I usually have to walk quite a bit to get to water falls.  There were quite a few people at first jumping off and swinging on the ropes but it cleared out a bit after Liz and Horace left and I got some nice pictures.  The water temperature was surprisingly warm.  The runoff at waterfalls is usually pretty chilly but I can tell summer will soon be here.  Talking about summer, another thing that is interesting is how the roadwork has escalated in preparation for the tourist season.  The guardrails are being rebuilt, There are big arm mowers that mow the side of the cliffs along the roads, and I also noticed they are really working hard on filling in potholes.  Very interesting, I don't think I ever noticed Corpus Christi preparing for summer like this.
