Five days in Kauai now!  What an adventure!  As most of you know I quit my job, sold my house; with most of my belongings, said Aloha to my children and moved to Kauai!  My lifelong dream to work for myself and live where I have always dreamed of living has finally come true.  For those of you who didn't know I was moving... Aloha!

The Days Before - I arrived at by brother Hal & Karen's place, in LA, very tired and ready for a break.  I would stay with them for 2 days before jumping to the Islands of Hawaii.  That previous week having a yard sale, that truly amazed even me, on a Monday was definitely hard work but I had my friend Terry and Fran to help and many other hands that came in and out throughout the next days while we packed for storage, trash, etc.  Samantha was so instrumental in getting all of the exterior painting done so the house could be finished for the sale.  Scott worked very hard on helping with the storage plans, searching for his new digs, and each day working to help me move.  Judy, Fran's Aunt was a godsend for me.  I ended up sick that last week and she came in and packer her little butt off.  Organization is what saved me.  I labeled boxes and kept a spreadsheet of boxes so that I can have each shipped as I need them.  I was definitely tired as I spent my last 2 nights with Fran in preparation for my flight.  My bed was in storage by then :)

Day One in Kauai - I arrived around 1:30, waited for the next flight to arrive with my baggage (don't know why that always happens).  I hung around making calls to the landlady of my cottage in Hanapepe (said to come late she wasn't finished cleaning), called to hear good news about the house sale from Myron (Realtor); that's looking good.  When my luggage arrived I took my rented car and went to Kimie's house to visit.  She is the project lead for the SANS projects I am doing as a contractor.  I had a nice visit with her; meeting her daughter and just getting to know her in person after a month of emails and phone calls.  As I arrived in Hanapepe (45 minutes from Lihue Airport) I was amazed with this little corner of Kauai that I was not familiar with.  The town is known as Old Historic Hanapepe Town with art shops, a restaurant or two, and a suspension bridge that is quite amazing.
